Condition: Very sharp and crisp revolver retaining 90+% of the original blue finish on the barrel; cylinder retaining 80% of the blue with a spot where the finish has a brown patina. Grips are excellent.

Mottled patina dings around the wedge bore with oxidation action a little stiff marks still fairly clear.

Its lines and blued finish mimicked costlier revolvers. Condition: Very good. 95% plus original blue.

S/n 72228. Retains 75-80% of original nickel plating with sharp clear marks original finish on the grips minor dings and dents action smooth but the hammer will not stay cocked. The wedge has the matching s/n to the rest of the gun but also the number 2811.

An old price tag for this revolver indicates that it was carried by William Thorn of Mississippi however there are no markings on the gun itself to support this and civilwardata.com does not list a William Thorn from Mississippi.

The revolver includes a lined display case and accessories to include powder flask, strip capper, nipple wrench/screwdriver, spare nipples, a pick, and a bullet mold for both round ball and conical bullets. The firearm itself features a blued barrel and cylinder mounted to a case-hardened frame with a brass trigger guard and walnut grip panels. The revolver is in fine condition overall with some light pitting on the left side of the barrel near the forcing cone. The rifling is still in excellent condition as well as the chambers with no signs of corrosion. Lock-up is still good with a slight wobble and the cylinder spins freely. A great beginners kit for those interested in shooting black powder firearms. S/N: 44, Cal: .36 BP, BBL: 7 1/2", OAL: 13."
